The Vinag Wine Cellar is a true underground treasure, located right in the heart of Maribor, just beneath the city’s hustle and bustle. With over 15,000 square meters and more than two kilometers of corridors, it is the largest and one of the oldest classical wine cellars in Central Europe. Its origins date back to 1847 when it was founded with the vision of combining tradition and a modern approach to winemaking. Today, this magnificent underground complex is an invaluable part of Maribor’s cultural and winemaking heritage.

In the cellar, wine matures in oak barrels and modern tanks, with the space maintaining a natural temperature ideal for the long aging of high-quality wines. Vinag continues the rich tradition of winemaking, cellaring, and wine trading, while also opening its doors to visitors, who can tour the historic cellars, listen to fascinating stories, and enjoy tastings of local wines.
