The Lent Festival
The Lent Festival is one of the largest and oldest summer festivals in Slovenia, filling Maribor each year with music, art, and life. It is a multicultural and multi-genre event that brings together various fields of creativity – from all genres of music, theater, and dance to street performances, workshops, exhibitions, and culinary experiences. It typically takes place in the second half of June and ends in early July, when Maribor comes alive for more than ten days in a rhythm of culture and socializing.
The festival spans the entire city center, with the main events taking place along the Drava River in the Lent area, while also bringing life to other squares, parks, and venues across the city. Visitors can experience everything from intimate concerts in castle courtyards to spectacular outdoor performances. The Lent Festival is an important symbol of Maribor’s openness and creativity, attracting local and international artists, as well as thousands of visitors eager for quality culture and a unique festival atmosphere.
