Maribor City Park
The Maribor City Park is one of the largest and most popular green spaces in the city, offering relaxation, nature, and recreation all in one place. It covers approximately 54 hectares and is located north of the city center, easily accessible on foot, making it a favorite destination for both locals and visitors. The park gradually rises toward the Piramida and Kalvarija hills, offering stunning views of the city and surrounding hills.
Around 100 species of native and foreign deciduous trees grow in the park, giving it the character of an arboretum and providing a picturesque setting in all seasons. Among the park’s most recognizable features are three ponds, which are popular with walkers, fishermen, and children, offering a home to many ducks and other animals. The park is also an important recreational hub—with well-maintained paths, benches, playgrounds, and spaces for sports activities.
The City Park is a place where nature, relaxation, and cultural life intertwine, as it occasionally hosts various events, exhibitions, and open-air concerts. With its rich history and diverse offerings, it is an indispensable part of Maribor’s identity and a green oasis in the heart of the urban landscape.
