Lent
Lent is one of the oldest, most picturesque, and historically rich districts of Maribor, stretching along the left bank of the Drava River. Once the city’s economic and port center, today Lent is a popular city promenade where the past, cultural pulse, and relaxed everyday life blend together. A walk along Lent offers beautiful views of the river, the city bridge, and architectural gems such as the Water Tower, Jewish Tower, Synagogue, and the Old Vine House.
Along the waterfront, numerous cafes, restaurants, and wine cellars create a lively atmosphere, especially on warm evenings when Lent comes alive with street performers, music, and pleasant socializing. The district is also known as the main venue for the Lent Festival, which fills the area with events and visitors from all over the world during the summer. Lent combines rich cultural heritage with the modern rhythm of the city and is one of the most beautiful spots to relax and enjoy by the Drava River.
