Black lake is a beautiful artificial lake situated at an altitude of 1197 meters in the Maribor Pohorje. The lake was created by damming water and has become a popular destination for visitors who enjoy nature, as well as for those seeking a peaceful retreat by the water or along its shore. Its crystal-clear waters and stunning natural surroundings offer a tranquil space for relaxation, walks, and wildlife observation.

The area around the lake is also popular for hiking and cycling, with numerous trails that lead around and near the lake, connecting to a wider network of paths throughout Pohorje. The upper part of Pohorje, where Black lake is located, is an excellent place for outdoor enthusiasts year-round. In winter, it offers plenty of opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports, particularly at the Areh ski resort, which is the highest point of Maribor Pohorje and considered the most popular ski area in the region.
